Infectious diseases

To help reduce the spread of infectious diseases while at Leavers, remember to:

• Keep your distance where possible and avoid crowding when you can.

• Maintain good hygiene by washing your hands often with soap and water, or using hand sanitiser. Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow.

• Stay home or rest at your accommodation if you are unwell.

Mosquitoes are common in the South West and can carry Ross River virus. Protect yourself by:

  • Wearing long, loose‑fitting clothing, especially at dawn and dusk

  • Using insect repellent whenever you are outdoors
