Before They Go

For Parents and Guardians

Know their plans for Leavers

  • Plan with your young person how they will travel to and from the South West, and how they plan to get around once they arrive.

  • Ask for a copy of their accommodation contract and the terms and conditions, and review these together. Please note that the WA Police Force does not manage or resolve accommodation enquiries. Any questions about bookings, rules or expectations must be directed to your accommodation provider.

  • Support your young person to prepare a realistic budget for the week.

  • Ensure your young person has your current contact details, as well as another trusted emergency contact.

  • Remind them that if anything goes wrong, they should contact you/emergency contact, WA Police, and/or the support services available at Leavers.

  • Follow the Leavers WA Instagram and Facebook pages to stay informed.
