The Zone

What time does The Zone open?

The Zone operates from Monday to Thursday, 7.00 pm to 1.00 am during Leavers week.

What is at The Zone?

The Zone features a huge line‑up of DJs, interactive entertainment, amusement rides, activities, and karaoke.

It is also home to the iconic Silent Disco, where you can grab a headset and dance with your mates.

Will there be food available?

Yes. A range of food trucks will be onsite each night selling food and soft drink.

Bags, Security and Entry:

Can I take a bag into The Zone?

Yes. You may bring a small bag (maximum 22.9 cm x 16.2 cm). All bags will be searched by security.

A cloak room will be available for personal belongings, however large bags are not permitted inside the event.

What items are not allowed inside The Zone?

The following items are prohibited:

  • Alcohol

  • Illegal substances and drug paraphernalia

  • Cigarettes, e‑cigarettes and vapes

  • Lighters, matches and sparklers

  • Weapons or items that could cause harm or intimidation

  • Glass, bottles or cans

  • Aerosol cans

  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards or rollerblades

  • Animals

  • Commercial‑grade filming or photography equipment (your iPhone or film/disposable camera is accepted).

Empty water bottles are allowed and can be refilled inside.

Is The Zone alcohol and drug free?

Yes. All Leavers WA events, including The Zone, are strictly alcohol, drug, smoke and vape free.

Photos, Filming and Devices

Can I take photos and videos inside The Zone?

Yes. Personal phones and small cameras are permitted.

However:

  • Photos and videos are for personal use only

  • Content must not be used commercially or published without written approval from Leavers WA

Age, Access and Safety

Is there a separate area for over 18s?

No. The Zone is a single, combined event space for all Leavers.

All attendees must follow the no‑alcohol, no‑smoking and no‑vaping rules.

Are people over 18 allowed to attend?

Yes, as long as they meet eligibility requirements and hold a valid wristband for the current Leavers year.

Can I come to The Zone without a wristband?

No. A valid wristband is required for entry every night.

Can I leave The Zone and come back later?

Yes, but you must go through full security screening again each time you re‑enter.

Can I use someone else’s wristband if they finish early for the night?

No. Wristbands are matched to your identity. Sharing or swapping wristbands is not permitted and you will lose ongoing access to the event.

Can I bring props or costumes?

Yes, as long as they do not contain restricted items (no sharp objects, metal poles, fake weapons, including toy guns, whips swords or anything that could be considered unsafe).

Can I bring a portable speaker?

No. Portable speakers are not permitted inside The Zone.

Can I bring my own food?

Small snacks for personal use or medical reasons are fine, but commercial quantities, glass containers and eskies are not permitted.
